Lungi Reimagined
When I was growing up I never gave a second thought to the 'Lungi' the ubiquitous men's sarongs worn by the common man all over the indian subcontinent. It is a practical attire considering the heat and the humidity in the region. These lungis come in myriad patterns, most frequently plaids with interesting ikat weaves, fabulous stripes and checks. We at MUNY have reimagined these men's sarongs into a 'hip, summery, ultra light, no fuss' women's shirt dress with pockets. These limited edition dresses will be available at our shop in early July.

Women's peasant top
I wanted to show the wood blocks used for printing our textiles and the final product itself. The above 2 pics are of the leaf outline block and the leaf background block. We did a lot of sampling with the background block but never used it for our production. All the textiles shown here use the outline leaf block.
